Dr. Michael Brandt
Dr. Michael Brandt is a sub-specialist Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon and board-certified Otolaryngology — Head and Neck Surgeon.
His academic background includes an undergraduate degree in psychology and research methodology at York University, followed by a medical degree, and then five years of residency training in Otolaryngology — Head and Neck Surgery at Western University. Dr. Brandt then completed one year of advanced fellowship training in Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Michigan under the mentorship of world-renowned surgeon and facial reconstruction textbook author Dr. Shan Baker.
Dr. Brandt’s clinical interest focuses on reconstructive facial plastic surgery — caring for facial skin cancers (their removal and post-removal facial reconstruction). He is also an academic surgeon (Lecturer, University of Toronto) and has collaboratively published over 30 peer-reviewed publications, lectures nationally and internationally, and has been the recipient of several national and international research awards. He is a reviewer for several journals and is actively involved in national and international specialty and sub-specialty professional organizations.
