How is Clear + Brilliant® Different from Other Laser Resurfacing Treatments?
The Clear + Brilliant® system was developed by the same physicians who created Fraxel®. Rather than “turning back the clock” on the skin’s aging process, the laser provides a gentler, “refreshing boost”. The wavelength is similar to Fraxel® and comes in two settings of 1550 and 1927 nm and will be administered according to skin type and for individual patients’ needs.
To better illustrate the difference, consider the diet and exercise regimens of a person trying to lose weight, versus someone already at an appropriate weight who is focused on maintaining and enhancing their body. In the case of skin, Fraxel® and ablative lasers could be considered analogous to the former, while Clear + Brilliant® is similar to the latter.
Clear + Brilliant® Treatment Details
A laser skin resurfacing treatment session for the face with Clear + Brilliant® can typically be completed within 30 minutes. While Clear + Brilliant® is specially known for being a gentler laser, a topical anesthetic may be applied to further minimize any discomfort.
During the procedure, your laser technician will glide a proprietary handpiece over the areas to be treated. The device has a patented tracking system that allows the laser energy to be applied evenly for consistent results.
Post-Treatment Results & Maintenance
For up to 12 hours after receiving treatment with Clear + Brilliant®, patients may experience mild, temporary side effects such as swelling and redness. Occasionally, the treatment session may also be followed by a short bout of sensitivity and itchiness that lasts for a few days but note that these are typically signs of the body’s natural healing processes being jumpstarted.
In the days and weeks following treatment, skin will subtly and gradually appear thicker, more radiant, and even-toned.
